Relationships
- If you want people to like you, forgive them when they wrong you. Remembering wrongs can break up a friendship.
- The start of an arguement is like the first crack in a dam, stop it before it goes any further.
- Friends always show their love. What are brothers if not to share trouble?
- Being cheerful keeps you healthy. It is a slow death to be gloomy all the time.
- Someone who is sure of himself does not talk all the time. People who stay calm have real insight.
When we let the Holy Spirit lead us, certain qualities become apparent. Love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. Our relationships with each other will be guided by these characteristics rather than selfishness and agression. As we cooperate with the Spirit's leading and teaching, so these beautiful and fruitful qualities will develop in our lives.
Love is at the heart of the Christian faith: without it, we are nothing. It is a love that forgives and does not bear grudges or seek revenge. It is easy to think of a 'good life' as merely avoiding doing wrong, but a truly good life goes deeper: it is driven by love. Love is positive, enabling relationships to deepen in trust and commitment.
