ARK
I know I'm slow with movies sometimes because I just can't fathom paying $12 to see a movie at the cinema. Once in a while it's ok... but I prefer to borrow movies out and watch it on DVD with all the extra bonuses.

So anyway I watched Evan All Mighty today. Someone told me it was crap, but actually I didn't think it was too bad. One thing that caught me during the movie was when God was telling Evan...
When we ask God to give us patience... He gives us the opportunity to be patient.
When we ask God for courage... He gives us the opportunity to be courageous.
About a year ago, I asked God to help me be more patient. I didn't realise it then, but we can't simply think that one day out of the blue we're going to be patient. We have to learn and experience situations to help us become more patient and tolerable and even then, each and everyday is a learning experience to help us grow into better people. Looking back, I can see the opportunities presented which have helped me to become more patient.
The other night in fact, I asked God to help me be more humble. After watching the movie, I realised that God has placed me in situations right now - in my job and other commitments - where I have to humble myself to keep learning from people. In doing that, I know there will be greater things to come.

Don't you like the warm feeling when somone does something nice for you? Like when someone accompanies you to lunch when you have no one else to go with, or when someone helps you to pay for a parking fine which was unexpected, or when someone offers to help you do your hair and makeup for a big event you're attending, or when someone helps you to set up your wireless internet connection because you're so clueless on how to do it, or when someone gives you a small little gift when you least expect them to or when someone gives up their time to just help you when you ask them to.
ARK = Acts of Random Kindness.
That's something I learnt during the movie , and something that I'm going to try to implement within myself this year are acts of random kindness. We should learn to be appreciative of the people around us and the time and thought they are giving to us as a result of their actions
I have so many friends to be thankful for, for their acts of random kindness. But in saying that, we shouldn't just be thankful and keep it to ourselves. We should let them know that what they've done is being appreciated and we should try to do unto others what we would want done to us.
In fact, we should all try to do one act of random kindness a day - just to make living in this world a little more tolerable don't you think?
