Whatever!
Today I went shopping. I'm jobless, yet still shopping and spending money, but I had to buy some things today and I had some errands to run anyway.
So I was just looking at some stuff so I had my face towards the wall, and this guy walks behind me and says,
"Hello China girl."
EXCUSE ME!!!! !@#$%%^ *SO highly offended* I'm not from China!
"I'm not from China..."
"Oh Korea?"
"No, I'm Australian."
"Oh you're pretty."
Whatever! So I gave him a wierd look, turned away and ignored him ... and he left.
Didn't think I was Australian did ya mate?!
I hate it when people stereotype others and just assume that just because we look Asian that we come from China.
I wish Jillian was with me at the time. She would have told him...
Oh and in other news, I've been fanatically applying for jobs everyday, and have already had 2 rejections. Wasn't sure if I should go back to Synovate to work...
Then I got a call from Curtin International Office (where I was working before I went on holiday). It was Jenny, my boss and she called to offer me a full time job as an Admissions Officer. Actually, she told me to call them after I came back from my holiday but I was refraining from calling for a while because I wanted to see if there were other opportunities out there which was more related to what I studied. But since she insisted that I made such a good impression on her I told her I would come back and work for her.
She asked me, "So ... you're not going on holiday any time soon are you?"
"Nope! I've had enough of holidays and I spent wayyy too much money! I need to work now!"
So even though it wasn't the job I had intended for, I guess it's a starting point and a stepping stone as Jenny mentioned to me. But maybe it's God intention for me to work there and who knows where I'll end up. Praise God that I was able to get a full time job so soon after my holiday. No more being a slacker... I start on Thursday.
