This week has been pretty awesome for me because I've only worked 2.5 days!
Monday was a usual day at the office. I've been sick the whole of last week with an annoying sore throat and slight cough that just won't go away no matter how much butter menthol and pei pa kao I eat! My colleauge Tara was a lot sicker than me... the germs flew across to my breathing space and eventually I got even worse than I was which means...
On Tuesday I chucked a sickie! Wee hurrah for sick days! It means I'm sick and I get paid for being sick. Well I woke up 7:30am... and I just could not stop coughing for the life of me! Non-stop till 8:00am and decided I will take the day off. In the end, I ended up taking my mother to the doctors in the city, did some shopping at Garden City and bought some pro shirts. I can't believe that a nice office shirt can cost up to $89.95!!! WHAT A JOKE!!! I thought $49.95 for an office shirt was expensive enough... so I bought a $79.95 office shirt and all the other shirts didn't seem so expensive after that in comparison. Then went to buy some groceries for dinner. It was nice to spend the day with mum. =)
Wednesday it was back to work and nothing special. Not really busy on my side - spent most of the day helping other departments. Had to do some overtime since I left early on Monday for interview number 1. Worked till 6pm with Vanessa... and by the time we got outside it was sooooo dark and scary! I hate working late. I still have to complete 2 hours over time this week which means.. I guess I'll do it early in the morning so I don't risk my life walking to my car in the darkness! I'm so seriously scared I have my keys ready and positioned in my hand to stab the guy who wants to attack me! It's tough being a girl sometimes...
Thursday - today is my day off!!! Weeeeeee!!! Hurrah for days off (even though I wish I could spend it relaxing at the beach)! Unfortunately for me, my day off is filled with errands and deadlines. Well I took the day off because I had interview number 2 in the morning. Thank God that I got there on time and was able to find the place and also get parking! The interview went well I suppose. They asked me four questions which was actually the selection criteria which was listed on the website anyway. I gave exactly the same answers as I did when I emailed them - which is good. Phew! But I don't think my examples and answers were very good though. Next week I'll find out.
My interview on Monday went OK as well. They bombarded me with sooooo many questions like, how do you deal with pressure, how organised are you?, are you people focused or task focused? yadda yadda... super long and kept asking and asking till I didn't even have time to drink my water. After the interview which was about 30 minutes I came out and drank my water. Then the lady at the receptionist said, "Wah you guys hounded her so much she didn't even get time to drink her water!"
I don't even know if I want these jobs. Actually I'd prefer to have the job interview I went for today. Just seems more fun. Then again, I'm still applying for other jobs as well.
Then I went to the dentist! Did I ever mention how much I love going to the dentist! I love it. They clean all the crap out of my teeth and now they're squeaky clean ... for $250.00!!! zomg. Lucky I get $177 back from HBF. But yeah, sitting in the dentist chair this time... when she starting using that machine to clean my teeth - I suddenly felt scared for the first time and I don't know why. I think it's because that thing she used was vibrating too much - kinda feels odd on the teeth. Then she started asking me... oh do you know "David Lee, Corinne Li, Jason Tay..." I'm like... "Yes... ha... small world isn't it."
Then I had to go to HBF to get my money back... somehow, I detoured and ended up in Myer... and then Dotti... and 5 minutes later I came out $109 poorer! But with an dandy coat and another vest! =) Happy days!
So glad it's almost the weekend! =)
