Spring is here!

Today, finally spring is here! 36.5 degrees - boo-yeah!!! My thoughts are going to be frazzled because I'm quite hot right now!
Started the day off by going to Ace Cinemas in Subi to watch Julie and Julia organised by deliciouz. We also had some delicious french pastries to taste!! Jasmine and Frances couldn't make it because they both ended up being sick :( and Charlyn got into a car accident - double oh no (but she's ok)! So it was just me, Shin Woei, Iris, Ailin, May and Christine. The movie was good! Slow-paced throughout, with no major dramas. The ending was a bit disappointing to say the least. HRM... I would love to read Julia's autobiography. I love to read autobiographies - and I want to watch Mao's Last Dancer - and read the book too. But right now, I have too many books to read and can't catch up.
So here's her
blog.
Haven't bothered to read it yet -- will probably be boring, but the concept is interesting.
The French pastries were sinful!!! The macaroon was very sweet for my liking. The little chocolate tart was the best... and there was a fruit tart which was ok too. I bought an extra one for my sister - but had to leave it in the hot baking sun in the car, so they all melted! (It's in the freezer now).
Then it was me, Shin Woei, Iris and Ailin left and we went to Dragon Palace dim sum for lunch. Yums and so full... of oil. Throughout the conversation, I've realised that -- I've grown up!!! Talking about tax, and stocks and ... bikinis @_@
Soo... Shin Woei is supposed to go to home to study after that - but she went shopping with me! Double boo-yeah! We got to Carousel about 3:30pm. Under-pressure and trying to relieve my depression from Friday's fiasco, I went on a shopping spree. I must say though, I think I shop better under pressure. When I have an aim and an idea of what I want, I also perform better at the shops!
Backtrack to Friday: I was depressed because casual Friday, everyone in my office (cept for the 30 that were "sick" and soaking in the sun...) everyone else in the office were in their spring coloured fashion -- whilst me? I was still in the dark ages wearing dark purple and dark brown jacket and dark jeans. Oh my ... the burden and depression and grey cloud over my head the whole day was too much to handle!
SO... shopping mission: buy spring clothes!!! BUY BUY BUY -- don't even look at the price... well... I guess GLANCE at the price... but don't think too much of it. I still haven't calculated how much I spent yet.
Also, with big purchases over $100, I have to think and double think... and triple think... and then go away and come back again... but I bought IT. I bought the WAYNE... well her name is Cindy... but I'll call her...him, WAYNE. Mr. Wayne! Anyway, you might see him around some time with me.
So I feel super-achieved today. Maybe super-accomplished is more grammatically correct.
I think above all, Shin Woei is probably the most reasonable person to shop with. Not overly indulgent on overly priced things, and not SUPER frugal and cheap -- a nice balance which I need to help me think straight especially with the hot weather. I don't think I could have speed-shopped that fast without her, and well, you know me when it comes to shopping. I double guess myself.. is this nice? is it worth it? hmm... maybe I should wait for the sale? does my bum look big in this? (Ok I've never asked the last question to myself I think - my bum is HUGE!)
In other news, I went swimming yesterday for the second time in a decade! It felt so good to be in the water after a long week of work. 1.5 hours in the pool, spa and sauna. I went with Shin Woei... and we went to the sauna -- we're both blind so we can't see. Then this Ang moh lady starts to talk to us... First question, "ARE YOU FROM CHINA?" I hate it when people ask me that. So racist -- well my ancestors are from there, but I'm not... really from there. Can't you tell from my accent... mate? So anyway I told her that I was raised here. She kept talking when all I wanted to do was close my eyes and relax... I told her, I couldn't see her very well and who she was talking to. Oh yeah and there was this fully sweaty guy laying down... and he FARTED!!! What a pig!
Then after that we went to the steam room. There was a guy already in there. Phewwww---eee!!! The steam room is HOT!!!! This guy was only about 2 metres away from us and I could not see him at all. His first question was, "ARE YOU INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS?" -- big sweat drop from my face AGAIN -- no comment!!! Then we asked him where he's from, he said Sarawak. CRAP. I thought he was ang-moh... couldn't see him.
In the end, we concluded that Shin Woei likes the steam room and humidty of East Malaysia, I like the sauna and dryness of Australia!
And the smartest thing that we did after swimming -- was go eat the Mighty Angus meal after that! Sien... started to get some affects of hayfever after that - oh no! But it has cleared up today. I steered clear from any single thing that looks like a plant... so I should be good.
OKAY -- I'm a happy chappy today. Going to play with my new clothes now! :) ... I mean admire the stuff I bought:)
